Have Your Cake and Eat It Too Part 1

cake

What do you really want in your life? What excites you so much you can’t wait to act?

If you can’t answer those questions quickly then you will never have your cake and be able to eat it because you don’t know what your cake is.

Your heart must be part of this and you have to learn to loosen your grip on figuring it out with your head.  Your head may help you figure out details along the journey but it is your heart that must choose the journey and keep you going. In the bigger picture, the heart is far more important than the head.

Raise your aim beyond what you think is safe or reasonable and shoot for that which is extraordinary. Believe that you can actually possess that which is precious to your soul and that ignites your passions.  When you know what your true “CAKE” is then you will naturally pursue it with passion and vigor. It will inspire you and lead to greater creativity and persistance.

If you are not in love with what you are doing in your life then you will probably never reach the level of success that you desire and deserve in your life. Your CAKE is good for you. It gives you passion and love and causes you to care deeply enough to never worry about a half hearted effort.

Are you still holding back in allowing yourself to go after what you want most of all?

Relief from the past

Your TRUTH has no interest in your past mistakes or shames. All it desires is for you to realize that today is not yesterday. You are no more tied to the patterns and occurrences of yesterday as you are tied to eat for lunch what you ate yesterday. It isn’t the past you are tied to but a memory of the past. You know what memories are?

Concepts that you created.

That means you are in control. You brought it in to this world and you can take it out!

Ponder this thought.

Every year new spring time flowers fill the meadow.

There are seeds of infinite possibilities inside you right now. You were born with them. They are your spiritual DNA.

GO PLANT A BEAUTIFUL TODAY!

A wonderful life

The whole world conspires to rob you of the life you want. You must remember this at all times. – I’m not suggesting an approach of fear of an evil world. Rather, I want to share a truth, that when properly understood, can lead you to a wonderful life full of goodness.

The world does not intentionally try to rob you of the life you desire. In fact they often have no evil motive in them. However, the world is trying to make their life work, their life abundant and by default only want from you what will help them.  They want your time, your resources, your charity, and your service.

If you spend your life trying to cater and curtail to the world you will hate your life because it won’t be yours. It will be theirs.  Rather,  Find YOUR REAL LIFE and then freely share it with the world.

If you don’t really know who you are and what you really want, then you will find yourself tossed about like a small boat on a violent sea. You will have a miserable life.

Don’t trade your life – LOVE YOUR LIFE!

Life truths I have discovered

+ Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
+Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
+ Being not truthful works against me.
+ Helping other people helps me.
+ Traveling is a wonderful way to gain a new perspective on life.
+ Assuming kills me every time.
+ Trying to look good limits my life.
+ Worrying solves nothing.
+ Having guts always works out for me. – “Go big or go home!”

You are what you love

love

You are what you love, not what loves you!

Honesty check – It does not matter what someone else thinks of you, how they love you, how they treat you, or how they feel about you. This even includes your significant other if you have one.

Can we talk? How often are our emotions or choices guided by the people and things in our lives that we desire to love us? We voluntarily sign ourselves up to be victims controlled by their world, their passions, their emotions, or whatever.

The Bottom line: What do you love? What are you passionate about? What gets your juices flowing? What is your dream? What fulfills you design?

If you want better relationships stop looking to others and start looking at yourself. Here is a truth that will take you far: The better lover you are the better relationships you will have. I’m not talking about sex here. I’m talking about how you love others from the foundation of how you are designed to live, love, and play. Every person has a design. A specific and beautiful intention that is your gift to others. It is your chief way to love the world. It is the easiest way for you to love. It is the most natural and organic way for you to love. Know yourself, know your dreams, know your passions, and love well from there.

BE A GOOD LOVER!

Attracting Cancer?

I received a great question the other day that leads to so much more and so I had to share it. PLUS – I want to hear your responses.

The question was related to women doing self breast examines and if looking for a lump was actually attracting the cancer. If thoughts become things and we attract and create by what we think about, then questions like this should come up.

The answer is both yes and no.

No – Just because you look for strange lumps in your body for 5 minutes does not mean you will attract cancer. In fact not only should we know our own bodies, we should celebrate them.

However

Yes – We attract that which we give significant thought to when combined with great emotion. Therefore, if you think about cancer all the time and how you don’t want to get it and how your mother or grandmother got it and about all the news stories about it, and this is thought is entered into with fear; then you are asking the Universe to give you cancer. This is no different than not wanting so many bills that you can’t pay yet you think about the bills you can’t pay all the time and attract more bills you can’t pay.

This question leads me down another path.

Does the media and our world wide obsession with reality and things like over weight children, global warming, sicknesses that are on the rise, and natural catastrophes cause us to actually be attracting more of it?

In the last 50 years we have significantly increased our awareness of world wide happenings and news stories and it seems the media likes to focus on the negative, the catastrophic, the scary, and the hurtful. As a result we spend an increasingly larger amount of our energy thinking about these negative things. Maybe we would all be better off if we never watched TV or listened to the radio and we spent that time loving on each other, dreaming about the life we desire, and working in that direction. Sound radical?

I can say with certainty that the power of attraction increases in community. Therefore, I must petition you to put on the garment of love every day and in every way, focus your sights on the hope of the life you were designed for, and step out in faith on that hope.

It doesn’t get any better than that!

What do you expect?

Yesterday my son, Hunter (8), was in a very foul mood. I found him outside moping around with a look that said, “I might as well eat worms and die”. When I asked him about what was wrong, he gave me a long explanation about why his life stinks, and it can be summed up this way – Nothing good ever happens to me, My sister ruins my life and steals all my friends, and There is never anything to do.

Now that sounds bad, but what he seemed to forget, and you don’t know, is that he and his sister spent a couple of hours earlier in the day in a bubblepalooza. The entire back section of our pool deck was covered in very suddzy bubbles and so were both of the kids. They were laughing and playing and having a great time. So how did he go from bubble bliss to “I hate life” in such a short amount of time?

bubblesWell most of us do this from time to time. We have trained ourselves to deeply feel the things in our life that we perceive as negative and we quickly forget the joy. It is really just a matter of choice. Do we continue to precipitate the lie that parts of our lives are out of our control and there is nothing we can do about it, or do we choose to believe the truth that everything in our life is the result of the thoughts we think and the choices we make?

By training ourselves to gravitate toward the latter we guarantee that we can live a life we choose and desire. Rather than lament the past choices and thoughts that we feel are amiss, we can focus on the new thoughts and choices we make in every moment staring us in the face. You can’t be melancholy about the past and conscious in the present action at the same time. So let the negative perceptions go and decide to choose joy! It is a lot more fun, people will want to be around you more, and you will want to be around you more. It is a win win!
